It’s September and every year I feel shocked when I walk into a store and I see the first Christmas decorations for sale on the aisle next to Halloween costumes these days!
This sets my heart aflutter with a little bit of panic because I am trying to save money and the holidays mean spending money. The last thing I want to do is put Christmas on my credit cards!
I do have some set aside for Christmas already, but not as much as I need because I have had some unexpected expenses this year. I would love to have a little more to spend. How many of you feel the same way?
So, let’s look at our major areas of spending and see if we can cut some costs from each, maybe we can get a few hundred more to spend by Christmas!
Click each link below to be taken to that section of savings suggestions. Go through them and see which you can use to cut costs from your own spending, thus setting aside extra every week until Christmas.
This may be helpful if you decide to layaway, giving the payment for each week or two before paying it off. It also might help you afford a little more with cash to stick to your plan of keeping Christmas off your credit cards.
Before you start going through these areas, print out the checklists so you can check off each suggested item as you explore whether it will help you save money in your own budget.
